The purpose of therapy is not to rid us of our emotions. It is to help us understand and accept them so they enhance rather than diminish our lives. Therapy helps us to grow up and become mature, loving adults.

Improving Life with Honesty
Honesty requires us to stop and pay attention to our thoughts and actions. Once we honestly look at our motives, we can decide on a course of action based on honest self-talk — a course that will help us build successful, transparent relationships.
In the words of Walter Anderson: “Our lives improve only when we take chances – and the first and most difficult risk we can take is to be honest with ourselves.”
So what does God want from us?
I believe His First and Second Commandments make it very clear. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind. And love your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke 10:27) Can we then be obedient to the light we have to then bring him Glory?
